CITIZEN SCIENCE TRAINING HUB AT THE AUSTRALIAN REPTILE PARK

See Some of Australia's Endangered Turtles

In partnership with Aussie Ark, some of Australia's most endangered species of freshwater turtles are part of an insurance and breeding program at the Australian Reptile Park. Turtles of all ages can be observed at the Turtle Ark. Each year, hatchling turtles are released to ensure the species don't go extinct.

Become a Citizen Scientist

We are constructing a Citizen Science Hub with the Australian Reptile Park. You will learn to observe turtles and record data using our TurtleSAT APP. The interactive training circuit allows you to observe Hunter River Turtles in large semi-natural lagoons. See them bask, feed, and in Spring, you may see them nest.

Web Cams

Can't get to the Central Coast of NSW? No Worries. Interactive webcams will be installed for online training using livestreaming of turtles in the ponds. Webcams will also be monitoring their nesting grounds. Turtles often have distinctive patterns and behaviours. You will certainly get to know them.
